    The Carson Dunlop and Associates program is recognized and recommended by the Canadian Association of Home & Property Inspectors (CAHPI) in all provinces.     The systems and components of a house include roofing, structure, electrical, heating, air conditioning/heat pumps, plumbing, exterior, insulation and the interior. The Home Inspection diploma courses are organized to address these, as well as provide students the communications skills and knowledge of professional practice required to be successful in this growing industry.

    Curriculum has been organized into courses that describe the materials used in the construction of each house system and how they are assembled. Content covers what may go wrong as well as the causes and the implications of problems that result.

In little over a year you will gain the practical experience in residential construction and remodeling to start a new chapter in the skilled trades.

    What Does the Home Renovation Technician Diploma Cover?

    This curriculum is designed to provide classroom and lab “hands-on” training in the residential construction and remodeling fields; with particular emphasis placed on the fields of carpentry, interior and exterior finishes, basic cabinetmaking, stair construction and installation and roof construction. Course content covers correct building techniques used by tradespeople necessary to meet relevant building codes.

    Students have the opportunity to write their G3 Gas technician exam after completing the first module. After completing the program, you will then be able to write their G2 Gas technician exam.

    Program Details

    The HVAC Technician diploma is a 55-week program divided into 5 modules of theory and skills training. This program is designed so you can begin your training at the start of any module and establish your HVAC Technician career earlier.

    What Does the HVAC Technician Diploma Cover?

    The curriculum provides classroom, lab “hands-on” training in the installation and maintenance of gas and propane heating systems, and, ventilation and air cooling equipment in the residential, light commercial environments. Gas codes and regulations are also covered.

    Hands-On Learning

    Throughout the HVAC Technician program students work with the following types of equipment:

    • metal snips
    • electric drills
    • pipe cutters and benders
    • measurement gauges
    • acetylene torches to work with refrigerant lines and air ducts

    You will use voltmeters, thermometers, pressure gauges, manometers, and other testing devices to check air flow, refrigerant pressure, electrical circuits, burners and other components.
