The students should be able to know and apply the generally accepted principles of planning, generating, composing, drafting, and revising messages. They learn and apply the generally accepted formats and uses of business documents and oral presentations. They are trained to do a number of business activities with a sound understanding of the style and mechanics of English-language business communication. They create slides using presentation software such as PowerPoint, locate and evaluate information on the World Wide Web, and communicate using electronic mail. The overall objective of this course is to help you improve many skills that are needed to succeed in the business world and to perform well in subsequent learning environments. The program includes analytical thinking, problem solving, audience analysis, reading, writing, listening, speaking, and collaborative skills.
