Our Dental Assisting program equips students with the comprehensive skills needed to support a dental team in every facet of care within a dental office setting. Participants will gain the expertise required to aid dentists during all types of dental procedures commonly carried out in general dental practices, as well as deliver personalized patient education and treatments as permitted within the dental assistant’s scope of practice in Nova Scotia.
Hosted at our Sydney campus, the Dental Assisting program blends classroom learning with clinical instruction, includes rotations in dental offices, and culminates in a work-term placement. This approach ensures students gain exposure to a variety of dental office environments and practice areas, preparing them for a versatile career in dental assistance.
