This program is for people who want to work in entry level positions in Trades.
Some examples of jobs: baker’s helper, furnace cleaning helper, mechanic’s helper, plumber’s helper, salon helpers, painter assistant, electrician helper and welder’s helper.
Entry Requirements
CLB 4-6 (CLB levels and Mathematical requirements depend on career of interest).
This is an excellent program for those who have completed ESL and/or have reached satisfactory levels of LINC study.
Program Description
16 or 32 weeks
Get Academic Upgrading in Essential Skills English, Math, and Computers.
Study occupation specific modules to prepare for work experience
Get training in:
Occupation Specific Vocabulary
Workplace language, Culture and Communications
Customer Service
Work Strategies
Work experience placement – up to 6 weeks
Job placement support from an Employment Specialist/Job Coach.
Certificates in:
Standard First Aid
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
