Veterinary, Animal Services Programs
- Veterinary Assistant
The one-year, full-time Veterinary Assistant Program is designed to train students for careers as Veterinary Assistants, providing essential support to Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians in the animal welfare industry. The program ensures Veterinary Assistants are well-prepared to handle customer service excellence, office management, client education, patient care, and animal handling. They become integral members of veterinary teams, enhancing hospital efficiency and effectiveness. The skills acquired are also applicable in other settings, including boarding kennels, pet daycares, and animal rehabilitation facilities. Students gain practical experience through a 160-hour internship at an animal welfare establishment of their choice.
- Veterinary Technology
The two-year, full-time Veterinary Technology Program equips students for careers as Veterinary Technicians within the animal welfare sector. Throughout the program, students acquire the expertise necessary to support Veterinarians in treating animals, including administering medications, conducting blood tests, managing anesthesia, and monitoring surgical patients. Additionally, the curriculum emphasizes effective communication strategies for educating pet owners on enhancing their animals' health and welfare. Students gain practical experience through two clinical rotations and a 240-hour clinical internship at a veterinary hospital of their choice.
