Pharmaceutical and Food industries are highly dependent on Research and Development. R&D has proven to strengthens the economy and improves quality of life for all. Investing in research at all levels is vital for any nation’s long-term growth and prosperity. Recognizing the need for highly trained researcher in the pharma and food industry, AAPS R&D program provides students with the academic, technical, industry and regulatory knowledge needed in order to start research careers in the pharma and food industry.
In this program students will gain hands on experience in performing research laboratory techniques such as HPLC, Dissolution, and various Analytical Chemistry work. These skills are complimented with training on formulation, scientific writing, quality assurance, clinical research and drug safety as well as R&D techniques, processing and safety specific to the food industry.
This R&D program prepares students to work in the Research Laboratories, Compliance , Formulation, and Clinical Research Departments of Pharma companies as well as Food Product Development, Food Processing and Food Safety departments.
This innovative program exposes students to real-world developments in the Food, Cosmetics and Pharmaceutical industry. QA/RA students gain a practical understanding of the quality systems such as GMP, HACCP, BRC and SQF as well as various regulatory strategies and submission process.
With faculty drawn from the industry, the networking opportunities are tremendous. Each classroom experience coalesces the experiences of individuals from multiple aspects of the industry, including quality assurance and control, regulatory science, R&D, manufacturing and validation, product development, safety, sanitation, clinical research, medical affairs and pharmacovigilance, biotechnology and generic drugs, medical devices and combination products, and marketing and sales.
AAPS offers highly flexible and convenient scheduling options. Students may start program every month and also can attend weeknight courses.
The purpose of the program is to prepare students with the necessary skills and academic knowledge for entry-level and mid-level positions in cannabis production facilities, cannabis testing laboratories, medical cannabis clinics as well as cannabis retail stores.
This program provides an overview of the regulations, quality assurance principles, as well as cultivation, laboratory, and extraction techniques currently being applied in the cannabis industry. Areas of study include: developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), conducting analytical testing for THC and CBD, owning and operating a cannabis retail store, utilizing seed-to-sale tracking software, understanding the pharmacological mechanisms of cannabis, and developing a comprehensive understanding of compliance in relation to the production and distribution of medical and recreational cannabis. In addition, the course covers key areas related to the development of edible cannabis products including creating a Preventative Control Plan (PCP) and following HACCP. Graduates will be prepared to work in a number of different roles in the burgeoning cannabis industry.
Graduates should find employment opportunities in cannabis production facilities and other environments such as cannabis testing laboratories, extraction laboratories, edible processing facilities, and cannabis retail stores.
High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is a technique for separating organic compounds in order to analyze them. HPLC is used in many different industries like biological, pharmaceutical, cannabis, food and drink, environmental and even industrial to analyze samples. HPLC is a very popular method of compound analysis due to its accuracy and precision. Modern HPLC has been applied in many situations such as separation, identification, purification and quantification.
These certificates include laboratory training with numerous hands on experiments. Training is performed in our state of the art laboratory using extensive wet and instrumental chemistry procedures. Work includes chemical analysis of a variety of pharmaceutical substances and materials. Enrolling in HPLC training can open your career to a range of fields including pharma, cannabis, biopharm, food, chemical, environmental, and healthcare
