  • Program Overview

    The Food Technology, Safety and Quality Diploma Program is designed to help students develop a hands-on approach to food safety and quality, while allowing them the opportunity to earn food safety certification. The program incorporates the specialized knowledge and skills required to implement the fundamental principles of quality assurance. Additionally, the program is designed to be equally useful for entry level or ongoing career development in the food and beverage industry. This program is equally beneficial to those who want to complement their pre-existing skills and knowledge by upgrading. The AAPS’s integrated approach affords students with the foundation and knowledge to develop, implement, and maintain the food safety program using tools such as GMPs and HACCP to ensure that products comply with national and international safety and quality standards.

  • Program Overview

    Pharmaceutical and Food industries are highly dependent on Research and Development. R&D has proven to strengthens the economy and improves quality of life for all. Recognizing the need for highly trained researcher in the pharma and food industry, AAPS R&D program provides students with the academic, technical, industry and regulatory knowledge needed in order to start research careers in the pharma and food industry.

    In this program students will gain hands on experience in performing research laboratory techniques such as HPLC, Dissolution, and various Analytical Chemistry work. These skills are complimented with training on formulation, scientific writing, quality assurance, clinical research and drug safety as well as R&D techniques, processing and safety specific to the food industry.

    This R&D program prepares students to work in the Research Laboratories, Compliance , Formulation, and Clinical Research Departments of Pharma companies as well as Food Product Development, Food Processing and Food Safety departments.

  • Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs – Food, Pharma and Cosmetics

    Program Overview

    This innovative program exposes students to real-world developments in the Food, Cosmetics and Pharmaceutical industry. QA/RA students gain a practical understanding of the quality systems such as GMP, HACCP, BRC and SQF as well as various regulatory strategies and submission process.

    With faculty drawn from the industry, the networking opportunities are tremendous. Each classroom experience coalesces the experiences of individuals from multiple aspects of the industry, including quality assurance and control, regulatory science, R&D, manufacturing and validation, product development, safety, sanitation, clinical research, medical affairs and pharmacovigilance, biotechnology and generic drugs, medical devices and combination products, and marketing and sales.

    AAPS offers highly flexible and convenient scheduling options. Students may start program every month and also can attend weeknight courses.

    The Pharmaceutical Quality Control and Quality Assurance Post-Graduate Diploma Program provides students with the comprehensive knowledge and skills in the fields of Pharmaceutical Analysis, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs. All courses are delivered by experts from the pharmaceutical industry. Through this program, students have the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art laboratory that simulates working in a GMP environment. This intensive and hands-on diploma program is designed to prepare students for employment in the field of pharmaceutical laboratory. Practical physical and chemical techniques coupled with the state-of-the-art instrumentation are used for analysis of raw materials, in-process and finished products. This hands-on training approach includes drafting adverse reaction reports and preparing periodic safety update reports. AAPS’ Nutrition, Health and Sport program is designed to teach participants how to integrate and apply the effect of exercise and physical activity on health and chronic disease prevention as well as sports specific nutrition, optimizing performance and understanding the nutritional demands of sports. The food courses of this program are designed to help students develop a hands-on approach to food safety and quality, while allowing them the opportunity to earn food safety certification. The program integrates and applies knowledge within the areas of microbiology, food processing, quality assurance and food safety to preserve, process, package, and distribute foods that are healthy, high quality, and safe to eat. Additionally, the program is designed to be equally useful for entry level or ongoing career development in the food and beverage industry.
  • Program Overview

    The purpose of the program is to prepare students with the necessary skills and academic knowledge for entry-level and mid-level positions in cannabis production facilities, cannabis testing laboratories, medical cannabis clinics as well as cannabis retail stores.

    This program provides an overview of the regulations, quality assurance principles, as well as cultivation, laboratory, and extraction techniques currently being applied in the cannabis industry. Areas of study include: developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), conducting analytical testing for THC and CBD, owning and operating a cannabis retail store, utilizing seed-to-sale tracking software, understanding the pharmacological mechanisms of cannabis, and developing a comprehensive understanding of compliance in relation to the production and distribution of medical and recreational cannabis. In addition, the course covers key areas related to the development of edible cannabis products including creating a Preventative Control Plan (PCP) and following HACCP.
