Programs offered at each campus may vary, so be sure to check other campus offerings for the course you are most interested in.
The Start Date is a unique date that the student and staff select based on that best “start date” for the student. Once the student begins the program, they will have 52 weeks to complete the certification. The last 15 weeks will comprise the clinical practicum (450 Hours). Prior to beginning their practicum they must successfully complete the online theory and labs (925 hours) and the prerequisites stated in the registration process (ie. CPR, immunizations, etc). Virtual lab sessions are synced with corresponding theory throughout the program. Students also have the option of attending a physical lab site.
Upon successful completion of the theory, lab and clinical practicum, student will qualify to write their exam, online with a virtual proctor. The student must obtain a score of 70% or more in order to receive their PSW Diploma. Once the new graduate obtains their PSW Diploma, they will be certified to work in all PSW environments. Furthermore, their PSW education with ACAHS meets and/or exceeds PSW education standards in all provinces (except Quebec). This gives the graduate PSW the opportunity to be considered for PSW employment outside of New Brunswick.

The Advanced Standing Personal Support Worker (ASPSW) Diploma program is an online program designed for students who have previous experience in the Personal Support Worker (PSW) role. The student must have at least 450 hours of experience working in the role of a PSW and their employer(s) must confirm they are safe and competent with at least 75% of the essential PSW skill set. Upon graduation the student will be prepared to work in all settings that employ PSWs.

The Advanced Nursing Foot Care program is designed for nurses (LPN’s, RPN’s, RN’s, & NP’s) who are new to foot care or who wish to update their knowledge and skills. In order to enroll in this program, the nurse must have a current license in good standing with the province or territory they are taking the course in.
Our curriculum has been approved by Veteran’s Affairs Canada and Foot Care Educators have been educated with Foot Canada Training.

The Basic Foot Care program is designed for any certified or regulated Health Care Professional who have an Advanced Nursing Foot Care provider as a resource in their practice. Upon successful completion of the Basic Foot Care (BFC) program the Personal Support Worker (PSW) will be qualified to provide basic lower limb assessment and foot/nail care to all adults EXCEPT those with Diabetes and Peripheral Vascular Disease This is a non-invasive foot care program designed to teach PSW’s how to provide basic foot care as well as how to assess and recognize foot related issues and communicate effectively with other members of the healthcare team.
This program includes introduction and role of the BFC nurse, anatomy & physiology of the lower leg, conditions of the nail, infection control & prevention in foot care, lower limb tissue damage assessment, and documentation & terminology.
Upon completion of the online theory the student will begin their practicum. This practicum consists of one 4- hour day with a Foot Care Nurse Educator then 4 independent foot assessment and care assignments.

The Narrative Gerontology Course is a self-paced, online program delivered over a period of 6 months, totaling 100 hours of comprehensive learning.
This course is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the concept of narrative care and equip them with the skills and knowledge to practice narrative care in various settings. The course covers key terms and concepts associated with narrative care, identifies narrative challenges people can face, and outlines different activities and strategies for practicing narrative care.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Gerontology Narrative Certificate, recognizing their expertise in narrative care for aging populations. This certificate serves as a testament to their commitment and knowledge in this specialized field.

This program is designed to equip Personal Support Worker (PSW) Nurses with theoretical knowledge and best practice standards for medication administration in their professional environment. Participants are expected to practice within the boundaries of their professional role, as defined by the regulations of their specific province/territory and their place of employment.
The aim of this program is not to serve as a substitute for the formal Medication Administration Orientation provided by employers.
Offered as a 50-hour course, it is conducted asynchronously through the Moodle Classroom platform.
Participants are given a three-month period to complete the coursework, for which they must have internet access and a suitable device for online learning.
To enroll in this program, participants are required to submit proof of their Personal Support Worker Certification (or its provincial equivalent, such as Continuing Care Attendant Certification).
