    Hairstyling Program Prerequisites

    To be eligible for enrollment in our hairstyling schools across Ontario, a candidate must meet the following criteria:
    • Participate in a personal interview to determine suitability for the program
    • Grade 12 graduate (Canadian) or equivalent or 18 years old with a passing score on the superintendent approved entrance test

    Hairstyling Diploma Requirements

    In order to receive a diploma from our hair schools, a student must obtain an overall average of 70% with no grade less than 60% in any theory or practical examination.

    Program Objectives

    We are proud to deliver a well rounded Laser Technician Diploma program.  The course objective is to provide individuals with theoretical and practical application to perform various skin care treatments using professional skin care products and the latest technology.
    In a supervised environment, students will perform facial and body treatments including but not limited to basic facials, back treatments, hair removal, photo facials, and skin rejuvenation. This program provides in depth and detailed knowledge in client consultation, health and safety practices according to Ministry of Health regulations and protocols, and professionalism in the workplace.
    This comprehensive program is specifically designed for individuals who wish to commence a career with advanced Skin Care knowledge along with the practical and theoretical knowledge surrounding the services offered in a spa. Students will be prepared for a career as a Skin Care Specialist.

    • Skincare treatments have perhaps never enjoyed as much popularity as they have over the last few years.
    • This course is designed to give an individual all of the theoretical and practical tools they need to assess, identify and treat a variety of skincare concerns.
    • Students will learn how to perform all steps to both basic and advanced facials including in depth skin analysis, consultation, use of equipment and product knowledge. 

    Topics covered include (but not limited to):

    • Skincare theory (anatomy of the skin, types and conditions)

    • Steps to a facial including cleansing, massage techniques, exfoliation, etc.

    • Microneedling uses extremely small needles to cause ‘micro-injuries’ to the skin without causing open wounds or ablative damage.

    Practical Clinical Application

    All students will undertake to complete clinical hours working on guests. In order to fulfill the graduation requirements all students must complete the required practical application component of this program. NOTE:
    • Written and practical tests will be administered on a weekly basis.

    • A final written and practical makeup exam will be administered.

    Microblading is currently considered by many to be the fastest growing segment of the cosmetic tattooing industry. Also known as 3D/6D Brows, feathering, microstroking, etc, the technique is an advanced brow embroidery technique whereby a superfine row of needles is used to create thin, hair-like marks on the skin. This treatment has surged in popularity due to the current desire for full and realistic looking brows. It is great for hair loss and lack of definition, overplucked brows, correcting asymmetry, etc. The service itself is a fantastic addition to any aesthetician/makeup artist/salon/hairstylist‘s repertoire as current pricing for a single service currently ranges from $400 - $600 (1-2 hours), with a per treatment product cost of less than $30!

    Volume Lash is an innovative cosmetic application to provide the lashes with a Russian style 2D, 3D, 4D volume.     Lash Lifting and Tinting has recently enjoyed a surge in popularity as an alternative to traditional Eyelash Extensions. The procedure itself has been around for a long time (historically known as an “Eyelash Perm”), however, this new technique uses a different shaped eye pad in order to ‘lift’ the lashes from the root and achieve a natural curl with a lengthening effect. A Lash Tint is the perfect complement to this service as a replacement for mascara. Both procedures typically last 4-6 weeks. The current market price for the service is ~$75 average for a lash lift alone and $85-$100 for a lash lift including a tint.
