Medical Office Assistants play a key role in day to day operations and management of medical facilities. Medical offices are rapidly evolving work environments in which efficiency in patient management is highly valued. The typical tasks of a medical office assistant include patient billing, patient information management, data collection, medical transcription, proficient working with MS Office® applications, aseptic techniques and some medical office procedures, e.g., phlebotomy.

The CCHAP is a regulated Private Career College offering accredited programs to prepare professionals for healthcare and pharmaceutical industry. The CCHAP is offering the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities approved Medical Office Assistant program. This program is required for positions announced medical offices, hospitals, and similar healthcare facilities.
Who can take the course?
A post-secondary student completing a grade-12 education in Canada or elsewhere can become a Medical Office Assistant. Employers require their employees to be proficient in business language (English or French) and tech savvy, e.g., electronic medical records systems.
