Healthcare, Wellness, Pharma Programs

  • After completing CITCM’s Double Major Acupuncture/Doctor of TCM diploma program, students interested in pursuing a bachelor of acupuncture or TCM may do so by completing a five-month internship at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Sichuan province of China. The five-month internship includes intensive clinical study under the professors and TCM specialists, combined with advanced clinical application orientated lecture classes. A bachelor’s degree is a benchmark of success for students and the value of international clinical experience, study acupuncture and TCM at its home origin, learn how Chinese medicine and western medicine are integrated in practice in hospitals, and the opportunity to refine and improve on the skills built at CITCM takes the students to the next level of clinical confidence and success.
  • The program incorporates fundamentals of acupuncture training with a comprehensive study in traditional Chinese herbology. Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine have always been practiced side by side as the core healing modality in history, both complement each other from different aspects. In the Double Major program students learn the whole scoop of TCM, including acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, more in-depth TCM diagnosis, and numerous different natural healing modalities such as Qi Gong, Tai Ji, food and nutrition therapy, cupping, Gua Sha, auricular therapy, massage, and many more. Throughout the program students have all the knowledge in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine using individualized herbal prescriptions and herbal-food therapy. This allows graduates a distinct advantage in their future practice. The Double Major in Acupuncture and TCM streamlines the process by offering more education to students for the same tuition as the Acupuncture Diploma program. Upon completion, the graduates will be awarded the Acupuncture Diploma as well as the Doctor of TCM Diploma. Graduates are eligible to write the Pan Canadian TCM Acupuncturist examination facilitated by the College and Association of Acupuncturists of Alberta (CAAA). Also the Pan Canadian TCM Practitioner examination facilitated by BC and OT acupuncture/TCM regulatory bodies.
  • The fusion of the three programs uses commonly shared foundation classes to accelerate the process of study for acupuncture, doctor of TCM and massage, saving one year of study. This program provides graduates with more scoop of practice to start a successful career as an acupuncturist, Doctor of TCM, and Massage Therapist. Additionally, the WE Integrated Massage program may be finished in first two years of education, which allow students to practice while continuing study to complete the whole program, which can reduce student loan burdens significantly.
  • Study acupuncture with Chinese medicine theory, diagnostic techniques, Chinese herbal medicines, and fundamental medical sciences. Our Acupuncture diploma program has a tremendous focus on clinical internship, which trains the students to accurately assess the patient and identify the best course of treatment. Students are practice at CITCM onsite clinic, as well outreach clinics seeing great varieties of patients, students are also encouraged to participate in a 3-month internship at a university hospital in China, where they will gain extensive clinical training under the most experienced professors and specialists. CITCM Acupuncture diploma students are eligible to write The Pan-Canadian Written and Clinical Case-Study Examinations for TCM Acupuncturists as well the Alberta acupuncture practical exams facilitated by the  to register as an acupuncturist. A registered acupuncturist in Alberta can practice national wide, and this title is mutually recognized with Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, and Newfoundland where acupuncture is regulated. .
  • About 2200hr WE Integrated Orthopedic Massage Program
    The WE Integrated Orthopedic Massage Program at CITCM is focused on the therapeutic and orthopedic aspect of massage education blended from Eastern and Western philosophy and techniques. Our unique curriculum teaches the knowledge and skills of orthopedic assessment to create a comprehensive and accurate treatment delivery. This program is created with the joint determination of orthopedic massage pioneer Dr. Lanre Salami and famous Chinese medicine educator and practitioner Dr. Xia Cheng, with the belief that the integration of western and eastern medical practice provides the best treatment for patients. Students are trained under the experienced and knowledgeable instructors learning both western and eastern massage techniques and healing modalities to become a well-rounded complementary health professional. With over 90% classes plus taught on-site, this program is hands on, interactive, ensure all the practical techniques are learned and performed properly, and with abundant clinical practice opportunities, students graduate from our program has a great touch with their hands for healing. The program develops each student’s intrinsic ability to heal the body and mind, pain reduction, body mechanic correction, reduce stress, and increase body strength through a wide diversity of western and eastern healing techniques, exercises and food therapy. This program develops students with not only a health professional, but also with a healthy and vigorous lifestyle to live by and to enlighten clients.
