Business, Accounting, Marketing Programs

  • Canadian SciTech College’s Accounting and Payroll Administrator program is designed to give you a basic understanding of office procedures, bookkeeping, Sage and Quickbooks computerized accounting, corporate and financial accounting, and payroll administration.

    Be introduced to facets of corporate accounting, including corporate financial statements preparation and analysis, cash flow analysis and reporting, capital assets and liabilities

    Develop an understanding of basic financial accounting principles and practices according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

    Learn bookkeeping basics and how to perform day-to-day financial transactions, including general journal entries, accounts payable and receivables and the operation of petty cash Learn payroll-related legislation and payroll fundamentals (Candian Payroll Association curriculum)

    Transition the concepts of manual bookkeeping to a computerized accounting environment (Sage and Quickbooks will be covered)

Canadian SciTech College has, therefore, decided to revive this Course since a keen interest is seen in this area of Study not only by new immigrants but by working engineering professionals as well. Canadian SciTech College’s Business Administration Course will offer a combination of knowledge and skills to analyze and deal with management aspects.   • The Early Childcare Assistant program was developed to equip childcare workers with valuable knowledge, skills, and experience for employment as assistants in daycares or early learning centres. It was designed to give students an overview of the responsibilities of an early childcare assistant and opportunities to perform those responsibilities. In addition to covering early childhood development, program planning, communication, and other vital topics in childcare, the program also includes the role of computers in a childcare setting and how to use this tool to enhance the development in children.

Engineering Programs

  • Civil engineering is a profession that dates back thousands of years. Civil engineers design and supervise the construction of the infrastructure that is essential to daily life. Aiding the civil engineer in this job are the technologists who use drafting and design tools to bring the engineer’s ideas to fruition. From office buildings and airports to sewage plants and transportation systems, civil engineers and their technology teams have a hand in building it all. The technologist or drafter uses CADD (computer-aided design and drafting) and other technologies to help design buildings and other structures.   Learn how to: – produce plans for subdivisions, highways and sites by using electronic surveying and global positioning equipment – use computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software and structural analysis software to draw, design, and produce graphics for the construction of bridges, buildings and dams – design and operate drinking water and wastewater treatment systems, as well as water distribution and sewage collection systems – project manage, laboratory soil test and determine construction material suitability.

Healthcare, Wellness, Pharma Programs

The growing need for medical services by an aging population and an increased focus by government on home and long-term care are fuelling demand for trained, knowledgeable and caring Personal Support Workers.   Personal Support Worker Program Objective   The Personal Support Worker Certificate program is designed to provide our students with the necessary training and education to pursue a career in the traditional nursing assistant role in health care environments. Students learn practical support-related skills such as assisting with routine daily living activities, personal care, mobility, safety, medications, medical conditions, household management and meal preparation along with the interpersonal skills to deal effectively with clients, families, and healthcare team members. Sensitivity to individuals and their rights is a central theme of the instruction for the Personal Support Worker. Students will acquire the necessary skills to respond to the emotional and physical needs of patients, residents and/or clients who are under their care. Learning from the curriculum approved by the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC), the students will be working toward passing the national uniform final exam administered by NACC at the end of their program. Passing this exam is a PSW program requirement. A clinical placement combined with practical classroom instruction ensures you graduate with confidence in yourself and in your practical skills.   Personal Support Worker Clinical Placements   Canadian SciTech College has an excellent working relationship with various organizations for clinical placement. During the program the students will supplement their in-class training with an “on the job” clinical placement arranged by Canadian SciTech College. The placement provides an opportunity to apply the lessons learned in the classroom, gain confidence, and open doors to future employment. Successful completion of the clinical placement is necessary for graduation from the Personal Support Worker program.   PSW Relevant Certifications   Our Personal Support Worker courses are based on the curriculum of the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) and in order to graduate from this program, students must pass a national uniform examination administered by the NACC.

Skilled Trades, Auto, Fire Programs

  • The CNC /MasterCAM diploma training program prepares our graduates for a career within Canada’s growing industrial community. Upon the successful completion of the CNC /MasterCAM training program graduates will understand and be able to apply Computerized Numerical Control technology (CNC) from the introduction of CNC programming to advanced applications. As well, graduates will be able to develop CNC programs for a variety of machines, such as drills, mills, machining centers and lathes, using verifiable manual and computerized methods. The focus of the program is on practical industrial applications and problem solving using a professional approach.  
  • What Electrical and Electronics Engineers Do? Electrical engineers design, develop, test, and supervise the manufacturing of electrical equipment, such as electric motors, radar and navigation systems, communications systems, or power generation equipment. Electrical engineers also design the electrical systems of automobiles and aircraft. Electronics engineers design and develop electronic equipment, such as broadcast and communications systems, from portable music players to global positioning systems (GPSs). Many also work in areas closely related to computer hardware.   Duties of Electrical and Electronics Engineers: Electrical engineers typically do the following: 1.Design new ways to use electrical power to develop or improve products 2.Perform detailed calculations to develop manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications 3.Direct the manufacture, installation, and testing of electrical equipment to ensure that products meet specifications and codes 4.Investigate complaints from customers or the public, evaluate problems, and recommend solutions 5.Work with project managers on production efforts to ensure that projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.   Electronics engineers typically do the following: 1.Design electronic components, software, products, or systems for commercial, industrial, medical, military, or scientific applications 2.Analyze customer needs and determine the requirements, capacity, and cost for developing an electrical system plan 3.Develop maintenance and testing procedures for electronic components and equipment 4.Evaluate systems and recommend design modifications or equipment repair 5.Inspect electronic equipment, instruments, and systems to make sure that they meet safety standards and applicable regulations 6.Plan and develop applications and modifications for electronic properties used in parts and systems in order to improve technical performance.   Electronics engineers who work for the federal government research, develop, and evaluate electronic devices used in a variety of areas, such as aviation, computing, transportation, and manufacturing. They work on federal electronic devices and systems, including satellites, flight systems, radar and sonar systems, and communications systems. The work of electrical engineers and electronics engineers is often similar. Both use engineering and design software and equipment to do engineering tasks. Both types of engineers also must work with other engineers to discuss existing products and possibilities for engineering projects. Engineers whose work is related exclusively to computer hardware are considered computer hardware engineers.   Important Qualities for Electrical and Electronics Engineers: Concentration. Electrical and electronics engineers design and develop complex electrical systems and electronic components and products. They must be able to keep track of multiple design elements and technical characteristics when performing these tasks. Initiative. Electrical and electronics engineers must be able to apply their knowledge to new tasks in every project they undertake. In addition, they must engage in continuing education to keep up with changes in technology. Interpersonal skills. Electrical and electronics engineers must be able to work with others during the manufacturing process to ensure that their plans are implemented correctly. This collaboration includes monitoring technicians and devising remedies to problems as they arise. Math skills. Electrical and electronics engineers must be able to use the principles of calculus and other advanced math in order to analyze, design, and troubleshoot equipment. Speaking skills. Electrical and electronics engineers work closely with other engineers and technicians. They must be able to explain their designs and reasoning clearly and to relay instructions during product development and production. They also may need to explain complex issues to customers who have little or no technical expertise. Writing skills. Electrical and electronics engineers develop technical publications related to equipment they develop, including maintenance manuals, operation manuals, parts lists, product proposals, and design methods documents.

Technology, Networking Programs

  • Software developers are the creative minds behind computer programs. Some develop the applications that allow people to do specific tasks on a computer or another device. Others develop the underlying systems that run the devices or that control networks.   Software engineers and designers perform some or all of the following duties: ● Collect and document users’ requirements and develop logical and physical specifications ● Research, evaluate and synthesize technical information to design, develop and test computer-based systems ● Develop data, process and network models to optimize architecture and to evaluate the performance and reliability of designs ● Plan, design and co-ordinate the development, installation, integration and operation of computer-based systems ● Assess, test, troubleshoot, document, upgrade and develop maintenance procedures for operating systems, communications environments and applications software ● May lead and co-ordinate teams of information systems professionals in the development of software and integrated information systems, process control software and other embedded software control systems.
  • Computer network technicians establish, operate, maintain and co-ordinate the use of local and wide area networks (LANs and WANs), mainframe networks, hardware, software and related computer equipment. They set up and maintain Internet and intranet Web sites and Web-server hardware and software, and monitor and optimize network connectivity and performance. They are employed in information technology units throughout the private and public sectors.   Computer network technicians perform some or all of the following duties:   ● Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, computer workstations, connections to the Internet and peripheral equipment ● Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, operating system software and software applications ● Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks and to co-ordinate access and use of computer networks ● Provide problem-solving services to network users ● Install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade Web-server hardware and software ● Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance ● Perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records ● Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations ● Conduct tests and perform security and quality controls ● Control and monitor e-mail use, Web navigation, and installed software ● Perform shell scripting or other basic scripting tasks ● May supervise other workers in this group.
  • This Program prepares Students to confidently handle projects in the mechanical engineering, design and consultancy areas. Students receive intensive training and thorough skills. On completion of the Program, students acquire competency and skills to work as design engineer / mechanical engineer or draftsperson. The need for personnel with mechanical engineering skills continues to rise not only in the manufacturing sector but in service and consultancy industries as well. In manufacturing sector alone, mechanical engineering skills are in demand in companies engaged in the production of automobiles and parts, consumer durables, machinery and equipment and metal fabrication etc. However, new immigrants, despite having necessary mechanical engineering qualifications and experience, continue to difficulty in finding jobs which relate to their background., the main reasons being lack of Canadian education and Canadian work experience.
