- FRENCH – LANGUAGE AND CULTURE
CDI College’s French - Language and Culture program aims to prepare students for the DELF - B2 French Language Studies Diploma Examination from the French Ministry of Education. The French Language Diploma (DELF) is essentially an assessment of French second-language know-how aimed at officially certifying the capacities of students in real situations. The DELF evaluates the four communication skills: oral comprehension, written comprehension, written production, and oral production and interaction.
The French - Language and Culture program offered at CDI College, therefore offers basic training focused on the acquisition of knowledge in oral communication.
Upon completion of the program, the student can:
- understand the essential content of concrete or abstract subjects in a complex text, including a technical discussion in its speciality;
- communicate with a degree of spontaneity and ease such as a conversation with a native speaker with no tension for either person;

- EXPANDED TRAINING IN ORTHODONTICS
Looking to take your career as a dental assistant to the next level? CDI College's Expanded Training in Orthodontics program trains practicing Certified Dental Assistants and Registered Dental Hygienists in specialized orthodontic treatments and procedures. Students will learn to use the instruments, equipment and accessories used in orthodontics, as well as the various categories of orthodontic treatment.
Courses will cover orthodontic treatments, including orthodontic appliances. Students will also learn to organize, prepare, and perform orthodontic duties such as taking health histories, documentation of procedures and fitting and removal of various appliances.
Once this module has been successfully completed, the student must apply to the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia (CDSBC) to have this designation added to their certificate.

- MEDICAL-PHARMACY ASSISTANT
The Medical-Pharmacy Assistant program is designed to meet the needs of students interested in working in a health care setting – both pharmaceutical and medical offices and/or practices – where a substantial component of skills required common to a variety of medical, pharmaceutical, and specialist professions.
The Medical Office Assistant specialized areas and common medical and office portions of this program provide the skills and knowledge to be a well-qualified, practicing medical office assistant (MOA) through training in medical terminology, communications, office and clinical procedures, billing and electronic health records, transcription, and keyboarding.
In addition, the program fosters the development of interpersonal skills, organizational effectiveness, and the communication skills necessary to function professionally in a medical environment. Medical office (administrative) assistants perform a variety of secretarial and administrative duties in doctors’ offices, hospitals, medical clinics, and other medical settings.
The pharmacy portion prepares a student for an exciting and challenging career as a pharmacy assistant. Students are provided with the technical, clerical, and medical skills to offer the essential support required by pharmacists with a clear understanding of the roles of pharmacists and others in the pharmacy profession and the pharmaceutical industry.

- PHARMACY ASSISTANT
The Pharmacy Assistant diploma program at CDI College offers job-ready training in the office, clerical, and medical skills to provide the essential support required by pharmacists.
BC Pharmacy Assistant Program
In the program, you'll learn about pharmacology, pharmaceutical calculations, medical terminology, communications, pharmacy industry software and computer programs, inventory, billing and administration, as well as customer service skills.
After completing your courses - which includes training in first aid, CPR-C and WHMIS - you'll embark on a three-week practicum placement to gain work experience.

Pharmacy Technicians
Pharmacy technicians
work closely with pharmacists and pharmacy assistants in busy retail, community, and hospital pharmacies.
Throughout your coursework in the program, you’ll learn the knowledge and skills needed to be a successful pharmacy technician, including
compounding, dispensing, pharmacy mathematics, drug and body interactions, and using pharmacy software programs.
Hands-on Pharmacy Technician Courses
As part of your pharmacy technician training, you will partake in an eight-week, 300-hour practicum placement, split between a community pharmacy and a hospital pharmacy.
Students will have the opportunity to learn in a dedicated lab space outfitted with technologies currently being used in the profession, including a laminar airflow hood and computers with the Kroll® computer software. The spaces students will use include a dedicated classroom, mock community pharmacy as well as a separate aseptic room to help with the preparation of sterile products.
Pharmacy Technician is a regulated health profession under the auspices of the College of Pharmacists of BC (CPBC). Graduates of this program will attain competencies specified in the National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA) Professional Competencies for Canadian Pharmacy Technicians at Entry to Practice and the Canadian Pharmacy Technician Educators Association (CPTEA) Educational Outcomes for Pharmacy Technician Programs in Canada.Graduates will also be eligible to apply to write the certification examination offered by the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) and to register with the CPBC.
Admissions Prerequisites
- Graduation from a high school or post-secondary institution in Canada with successful completion of:
- A minimum of Biology 11, Chemistry 11, and Math 11, or equivalent courses.
- Completion of three consecutive English or French language courses (i.e., Grade 10, 11, and 12 English/French).
- Passing grade on CDI College's admission test.
- Provide a clear criminal record check (in accordance with the Criminal Records Review Act).
- Provide completed immunization report showing current immunization and absence of communicable diseases.
- Basic competency in computer literacy and basic keyboarding (minimum 25 wpm).

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate and receive a diploma, a student must obtain an overall average of at least 70% in this program, minimum grade of 70% in each of the final exams (theory and practical), and meet the zero tolerance criteria in the Pharmaceutical Calculations module as required by the regulatory body.
Students must complete the program within 4 years of admission.
Practicum Requirements - Community and Institutional
Students must successfully complete their practicum rotations split between both community and hospital pharmacy.
International Student and English Language Proficiency Requirements
Applicants who have graduated from high school or post-secondary programs outside of Canada (including English-speaking countries such as the United States, United Kingdom and Australia) must demonstrate English language proficiency for program admission.This standard is based on ICES-recommended tests and scores. In addition, all international transcripts and credentials must be assessed through the International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES) prior to enrolling.

BC Practical Nursing Courses
The practical nursing courses at CDI College provide you with opportunities to develop, integrate, and demonstrate knowledge, skills, and judgement. Licensed Practical Nurse
Practical nursing is the second largest nursing group in Canada, after Registered Nurses (RNs). LPNs treat health conditions, promote health, prevent illness and assist patients to achieve optimal levels of health and wellness. They work with a team of doctors and RNs to deliver the best possible care to patients in hospitals, long-term care facilities, doctor's offices, schools, and other healthcare settings.

Admissions Requirements
Students must meet all of the pre-requisites listed below, meet their financial obligations with the college, and acknowledge their understanding of the college’s policies and procedures provided in the student handbook, prior to starting classes.

- Immunization report (form provided by the College) as required by clinical partner sites and recommended by the B.C. Students who fail to comply with immunization requirements may be prohibited from attending practice education experiences by the health authority and clinical partner site policy.

- DENTAL ASSISTING
CDI College's Dental Assisting diploma program prepares students to compete for great jobs in the dental industry. The program covers all elements of dental care, pharmacology, oral pathology, and dental radiography. Students learn how to prepare patients for treatment, assist dentists during treatment, process radiographs, perform infection control procedures, maintain patient records, and handle other general administrative duties. Students study environmental health and safety and oral facial science, along with other core dentistry subjects.
CDI College's Dental Assisting program is the only private Dental Assisting program in BC
that is accredited by the Commission of Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC). The program provides both comprehensive and intensive education and training leading to a career as a Certified Dental Assistant. Students are exposed to activities that utilize the advances in the practice of dentistry. Graduates of this program are eligible to become a candidate for the National Dental Assisting Board Examination (NDAEB), which is a mandatory component for licensure and registration with the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia. Historically, graduates of the Dental Assisting Program received between 97%-100% passing rate in the NDAEB since its implementation in 2007.

- DENTAL TECHNICIAN
With hundreds of dental labs in B.C. and many jobs in the Vancouver area, dental technicians are in demand.
The Dental Technician diploma program at CDI College provides students with the training need to enter this fascinating field and eventually gain provincial certification.
Through a series of lectures, group activities, and hands-on projects, students will gain a fundamental understanding of conventional dental technician practice. They will also learn about computer-aided design and manufacturing of dental ceramics, dental implants, attachments and milling techniques.
Students enrolled in the Dental Technician program will also participate in practicum placements where they will have the opportunity to work in a dental laboratory under the guidance of professional dental technicians.

- DENTURIST
CDI College’s Denturist program provides the solid theoretical foundation combined with hands-on training you’ll need for a successful career in denturism.
The Only Denturist Program Accredited in BC
CDI College is one of only three schools in Canada accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Denturism and the only school accredited in British Columbia.
In the Denturist program, you’ll gain an understanding for the full scope of practice in both clinical and laboratory environments, including the building of complete and removable partial dentures, dentures on implants, and managing a professional denturists’ practice.

Hands-on Denturist Training in BC
After successful completion of the Denturist program at CDI College, graduates can seek employment as a denturist practitioner, clinic owner, and dental appliance manufacturer/supplier at a dentist-owned clinic or laboratory.
Prior to graduation, you’ll intern at a denture clinic. After you complete your internship portfolio and the theoretical, jurisprudence, complete denture and clinical exams, you’ll be ready to apply for certification to the College of Denturists of British Columbia. Denturists must be registered with their regulatory college and may used the reserved title of Registered Denturist (RD).

- HEALTH CARE AIDE GOVERNMENT OF ALBERTA PROVINCIAL CURRICULUM
Health Care Aides provide personal assistance and support services for people who require short and long-term care. - PREVENTIVE DENTISTRY SCALING
The Preventive Dentistry Scaling module at CDI College offers Registered Dental Assistants (RDAs) in Manitoba the opportunity to expand their skillset. A blend of theoretical home study and hands-on clinical training, Preventive Dentistry Scaling helps RDAs expand their practice and take on more duties on the job.
By the end of the module, students will be able to identify teeth and tooth groups in both children and adults. They’ll be able to describe the type of tooth, its location and anatomical features. Personal Support Workers
Personal Support Workers are a vital part of the healthcare system in Canada. In this program, you will learn how to improve the quality of life of your patients, including assisting with their physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
You will also learn how to assist clients with personal hygiene, their mobility needs, getting proper nutrition, creating a care plan, helping with medications and cognitive issues, as well as identifying and reporting elder abuse. You'll also receive your Standard First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate before going out on your practicum.
Hands-on Healthcare Training
The Personal Support Worker program gives you focused, relevant training to help you excel in various care environments. If you need flexibility, part-time and evening study may be available at our Mississauga, North York, and Scarborough campuses.
The final stage of the program are two practicum placements, totaling 310 hours over eight weeks, with one at a community organization, and the second at a care facility. These work placements ensure you’ll be job-ready and prepared to move into your new career as a personal support worker.
- MEDICAL LAB ASSISTANT/TECHNICIAN
Working in a medical lab gives you access to see life as its most basic levels - on a daily basis, you could be handling blood tests, working with tissue samples, and examining diseases under a microscope. The Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician program is geared towards helping you prepare for the challenges of a career in a medical laboratory.
The program combines theoretical and practical elements of lab work in a well-equipped classroom/laboratory setting. You will gain an understanding of key scientific principles, including the fundamentals of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology, clinical chemistry, laboratory microbiology, hematology and immunohematology, the cardiovascular system, including an ECG and vital signs, urinalysis and body fluids, specimen procurement, clinical pathology, cytology, and hystology.
Additionally, you will undertake a 4-week practicum, where you'll get to test your new skills working in a real laboratory.
The Medical Laboratory Professionals’ Association of Ontario (MLPAO) has established standards for the training of Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technologists. Graduates of educational programs approved by MLPAO are eligible to write the MLPAO Examination. Interested students may also apply to take the CSMLS National Certification Exam, which is usually held in February, June, and October.
- PHYSIOTHERAPY ASSISTANT – OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT
CDI College's Physiotherapy Assistant - Occupational Therapy Assistant program is designed to prepare and formally train students to work in partnership with, and under the direction of physiotherapists and occupational therapists.

This diploma program teaches fundamental massage skills such as hydrotherapy, palpation, remedial exercise, and patient assessment. Students learn different types of massage treatments, along with medical topics including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathology. A clinical placement, under the supervision of a registered massage therapist, gives students the chance to put their education to use in a real-world setting. CDI College's Immigration Consultant program prepares students to pursue a career as a Canadian immigration practitioner, a legal profession in high demand across Canada.
The objective of the program is to give the student training in all mandatory areas of immigration consulting practice. Both the theoretical knowledge and the practical skills are taught, perfected and evaluated.

- NETWORK SYSTEMS ENGINEER
The Network Systems Engineer program in BC prepares students for a career in the Information Technology field. The program teaches students to use a variety of computer software and other technological tools to perform essential business tasks, use fundamental system commands for operating systems, and apply a structured process to problem solving.
Students will also learn to install, configure, and upgrade physical and logical elements on a network, and administer a network client environment. Students also learn to establish and apply security measures to various physical and logical network elements and troubleshoot problems related to local and wide area networks. Programmer analysts develop applications in multiple environments such as Web and databases, by mastering both the techniques related to structured programming and those related to object-oriented programming.
