    By completing the Accounting and Payroll Administrator program, you’ll gain computer and office administration skills and a practical foundation in accounting, computerized accounting systems, and payroll.   • The Banking and Financial Services program has been built from the ground up with industry collaboration at its core, ensuring that the content throughout is not only relevant to the industry but also directly addresses the needs of its employers. To develop a thorough understanding of the banking and financial industries, you’ll explore banking fundamentals, foreign exchange, consumer & mortgage credit, and investments.   • The Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeper diploma program prepares students for careers in bookkeeping and accounting. In this program, students develop an excellent background in general accounting and bookkeeping principles with significant emphasis on the use of accounting software. The program covers the latest versions of Sage 50 and QuickBooks, the most popular commercial accounting software used in business today. Graduates will have well-rounded skills that can easily be adapted to other software programs. In addition to the accounting software, students learn a full set of computer applications that are required to compete in a competitive job market; including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Develop the essential skills and knowledge you need to compete in the dynamic and changing world of business. Our Business Management program provides a broad examination of business management and administration while helping students develop the tools they need to launch a rewarding career. Students focus on essential elements of accounting and finance, including foundation mathematics, bookkeeping, financial accounting, and computerized accounting. They also strengthen their communication skills through courses in business writing, academic writing and public speaking. Organizational behaviour, psychology, and human resources are included as well. In addition, the program includes fundamental and advanced explorations of key business administration topics. Students cover business essentials, business law, economics, marketing, and e-business. Advanced topics include business planning, strategic management, emerging global issues, and project management.
  • The Office Administrator - Executive program is designed to help students develop the skills for the modern office environment. Students will become proficient at an advanced level in the Microsoft Office suite. In addition, they will be trained in related Microsoft business software. Students will learn general business skills and comprehensive bookkeeping skills as part of their general studies. Students in this diploma program will also gain experience with some of the most popular accounting software packages. Executive assistants are relied on by some of the country's most powerful business people and it takes a strong understanding of what they need in the day-to-day operations of their companies to be successful.   • Supply chain management deals with the logistics of the flow of goods and services from suppliers to consumers. It includes a number of stages such as procurement, storage, transportation and distribution, and requires a variety of skills including supply and demand estimation and forecasting, operations planning, financial planning, negotiation, technical and IT. The Supply Chain Management diploma program is designed to prepare students to succeed in and excel in this field.   • CDI College's Medical Office Administration diploma program is meant for students with an interest in science, medicine, and working with the public. Graduates of this program are employed in a variety of work environments including hospitals, private medical practices, and clinics.

    The program covers fundamental office procedures and technology such as information processing, business procedures, keyboarding, and Microsoft Word and Excel programs. It also teaches medical office-specific skills like human anatomy, medical terminology, and medical machine transcription. Students are able to put these skills into practice through a mandatory practicum in a real-world medical office.

    Students continue to be supported after graduation through our Career and Employment Services department, which assists with job search and interviewing skills, employer expectations, and resume preparation.

  • Modern offices demand highly skilled administrative staff. CDI College's Office Assistant program gives you the key skills you need to be an asset in any business environment. Courses in the Office Assistant program focus on developing office support and professional skills, as well as word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation software applications. Students also develop strong keyboarding, professional, and administrative skills through our supportive, hands-on learning environment.

Creative Arts, Interactive, Sound Programs

  • In the Computer-Aided Design and Drafting Specialist diploma program, you’ll learn computer-aided design (CAD) application for architecture, engineering, construction, civil infrastructure, and product design. You will also focus on the fundamentals of drawing and drafting while building knowledge in the technical areas of mathematics, computing, and communication.

    In addition, you'll use the software applications to create a variety of designs and drawings that can be utilized in the real world. These will be used to assemble a portfolio of original creations derived from paper sketches and drawings. The program will also prepare you to write certification exams for the software you will learn to use.

  • The Graphic Design Technology diploma program at CDI College is the right place to start training for your exciting new career in design.

    In the 42-week program, you'll learn skills in digital image creation, editing, and production pipeline processes required by digital media employers.

Healthcare, Wellness, Pharma Programs

  • If you’re interested in a career where you can make the lives of everyone around you better and work as part of a team in the healthcare system, the Personal Support Worker program at CDI College is for you.  

    Personal Support Workers

      Personal Support Workers are a vital part of the healthcare system in Canada. In this program, you will learn how to improve the quality of life of your patients, including assisting with their physical, emotional, and mental well-being. You will also learn how to assist clients with personal hygiene, their mobility needs, getting proper nutrition, creating a care plan, helping with medications and cognitive issues, as well as identifying and reporting elder abuse. You'll also receive your Standard First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate before going out on your practicum.  

    Hands-on Healthcare Training

      The Personal Support Worker program gives you focused, relevant training to help you excel in various care environments. If you need flexibility, part-time and evening study may be available at our Mississauga, North York, and Scarborough campuses. The final stage of the program are two practicum placements, totaling 310 hours over eight weeks, with one at a community organization, and the second at a care facility. These work placements ensure you’ll be job-ready and prepared to move into your new career as a personal support worker.
  • The Pharmacy Assistant diploma program at CDI College offers job-ready training in the office, clerical, and medical skills to provide the essential support required by pharmacists.

    BC Pharmacy Assistant Program

    In the program, you'll learn about pharmacology, pharmaceutical calculations, medical terminology, communications, pharmacy industry software and computer programs, inventory, billing and administration, as well as customer service skills. After completing your courses - which includes training in first aid, CPR-C and WHMIS - you'll embark on a three-week practicum placement to gain work experience. Upon graduation, you'll receive a Pharmacy Assistant diploma and be prepared to start working as a key support to pharmacists and others in the pharmacy field.

Human & Social Services, CSW Programs

    The Community Services Worker diploma program at CDI College is the right way to get the hands-on training you need to assist people struggling with addictions, mental illness, or are victims of domestic violence.

    Community Services Workers

    Working across the social services sector, community services workers focus on the care and well-being of people who are at risk, and there is a great need for compassionate, giving people to fill these roles.

    As part of your community services worker training, you’ll also get certifications in Level 1 First Aid and CPR, Level 1 ASIST Suicide Intervention & Prevention, and Level 1 Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI).

    Hands-on Community Worker Training

    You’ll get real-world job experience in the Community Services Worker program with an 8-week, 300-hour field practicum placement, so you’ll be job-ready before you graduate.

    Additionally, you’ll also get an opportunity to work with our Career Services staff, who will work with you to create a personal profile to market yourself to employers, including resume help, job interview preparation, and more.

  • The Addictions and Community Services Worker program is a diploma program comprised of on-campus lectures and labs, field trips, industry-related projects, and a work experience component that provides the student with the theory, hands-on experience, and applied learning opportunities.

    The program prepares the graduate for entry-level positions in community social services with particular attention to the specific needs of people affected with addiction.

    The program includes courses in the fundamentals related to addictions and community services, building relationships, life management, and finally, professional and workplace skills.

If you're looking to make a difference in the lives of youth, CDI College's Child and Youth Services Worker diploma program is for you.

    Hands-on Services Worker Training

    Child and Youth Services Workers are indispensable in Alberta's healthcare system. In a given day, you will be working under the supervision of counsellors, dealing with many different issues affecting children and youth.

    The Child and Youth Services worker program gives you hands-on, job-ready training helping at-risk youth with family concerns, legal issues, access and success in education, physical and mental health, and addictions.

    Top Community Worker and Child and Youth Services Training

    Split into two parts, the Child and Youth Services Worker program first focuses on the community services worker part of your diploma, with courses in social service work, professional communication, working with families, diversity and social justice, as well as the fundamentals of poverty, addiction, and mental health.

    The second part of the program focuses on child and youth services, and includes training in child development, including trauma, grief and loss, advocacy and empowerment of youth, the youth and social welfare systems in Canada, interviewing techniques, youth justice issues, and youth diversity.

    Additionally, you'll take part in a 100-hour practicum placement, where you'll get the opportunity to test your skills in the field under the supervision of experienced child and youth services workers.

Legal, Policing Programs

  • The Law Clerk with Internship program at CDI College prepares students to pursue a traditional career path as a law clerk, working under the direct supervision of a lawyer. Law clerks are able to work in several areas of law including criminal law, family law, civil litigation, environmental law, corporate law, healthcare, real estate, and wills and estates. Students in the Law Clerk with Internship program will have the opportunity to gain real-world experience in a law office or other legal environment, giving them invaluable experience that can be added to their resume. In addition to their Law Clerk with Internship diploma, graduates can apply to write the four exams in litigation, corporate, real estate, and estates law required to join the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (ILCO).
  • The Immigration Consultant with Internship diploma program at CDI College comes with a 4 week internship, which will allow you to practice what you have learned on the program in a real working environment (law firms, immigration practices and/or government immigration services). It is a great opportunity to build valuable work experience and the necessary skills required to pursue a career as a Canadian Immigration Consultant. The program itself will cover all of the mandatory elements of the industry and will help you to develop your theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The Immigration Consultant with Internship program is accredited by the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC). Once you have successfully completing the program, you will be able to apply for the ICCRC’s entry-to-practice Full Skills Exam (FSE). After completing the FSE, you will be able to apply for ICCRC membership and become a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) with a license to practice throughout Canada.
  • CDI College's Immigration Consultant program prepares students to pursue a career as a Canadian immigration practitioner, a legal profession in high demand across Canada. The objective of the program is to give the student training in all mandatory areas of immigration consulting practice. Both the theoretical knowledge and the practical skills are taught, perfected and evaluated. In completing the program, students are provided a foundation allowing them to begin a successful career working in a legal firm as well as to start their own immigration consulting practice. This program is accredited by the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC) which is Canada’s governing body for regulating this profession. The successful graduate will officially have met the necessary academic requirements to apply for and write the ICCRC’s entry-to-practice Full Skills Exam (FSE).     • Successful completion of at least two (2) years of postsecondary education; or A minimum of two (2) years of related work experience or equivalent (e.g. law practice or services related to citizenship, immigrants, refugees, or other international persons); or combination of the two; and

    Law Enforcement Professionals

    Law enforcement professionals are highly trained in human behaviour, advanced conflict resolution, investigation techniques, and de-escalating tense situations.     Hands-on Law Enforcement Training

    A major part of the Law Enforcement Foundations program is prior to graduation, when you’ll meet with our career services department. CDI College’s Employment Specialists will assist you in creating a strong personal portfolio, so you can market yourself effectively to employers. This includes resume and cover letter workshops, career advice and counselling, in addition to helping you search for work for up to six months after you graduate.

  • The legal profession is a dynamic and well-paid sector that demands employees have the most up-to-date skills and education. Paralegals are a vital element to any legal team who are well-respected for their knowledge of legal documentation and procedures. CDI College's Paralegal diploma program teaches a combination of administrative skills with specific paralegal training. Students study day-to-day administrative skills like advanced keyboarding and business communications as well as the law and legal processes. This includes an introduction to the Canadian court system including elements of corporate law, family law, real estate, criminal law, and litigation. Students also learn how to handle evidence and legal documentation.

  • Legal administrative assistants are a key element to any legal team. In order to succeed in this fast-paced and fascinating career, you'll need a strong education in the policy and procedures of a modern law office as well as an understanding of the Canadian legal and court system.
    CDI College's Legal Administrative Assistant program will teach you legal terminology, court systems, office procedures, legal record keeping, and bookkeeping. Students will also build strong transcription and keyboarding skills and become adept at using common office software such as MS Word and Excel. Course material in this program will include wills and estates, real estate, corporate and commercial law, civil litigation, and family law.

Technology, Networking Programs

  • The Network Systems Administrator program focuses on preparing students to manage and maintain computers and network installations. Students will develop technical skills in network installation, maintenance, and management, as well as implementation and operation of computer services. In addition to developing a solid foundation in Information Technology skills, you will participate in a work placement program. The program also prepares students to write certification exams for Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) A+, Net+, Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP).
    Graduates of the program will leave with the skills to plan, implement, administer, and maintain a computer network and foster computer user support skills required to meet employers' needs in these areas.

  • The Network Systems Engineer program in BC prepares students for a career in the Information Technology field. The program teaches students to use a variety of computer software and other technological tools to perform essential business tasks, use fundamental system commands for operating systems, and apply a structured process to problem solving.
    Students will also learn to install, configure, and upgrade physical and logical elements on a network, and administer a network client environment. Students also learn to establish and apply security measures to various physical and logical network elements and troubleshoot problems related to local and wide area networks.  Network installation, monitoring, maintenance, upgrading, and optimization are covered as well.
    In addition, the Network Systems Engineer program helps students prepare for certification examinations in seven areas, including Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) A+, Net+, Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP).

  • The Information Systems Support Specialist program is designed for students wishing to pursue a career in the Information Technology industry. The program will provide the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to service computer systems and to support the users of these systems.
    The content of this networking program is based on industry certification requirements determined by Microsoft and CompTIA. If you determine that certification is an additional goal to your diploma, our courses will help to prepare you for your exams. Furthermore, your active participation in our Learning System will help you to develop confidence in your abilities as an IT professional.
    Students receive hands-on training on industry-standard software, and learn fundamental networking skills, hardware installation and configuration, system support and optimization, Windows operating system, MS Office applications, and help desk techniques.
    Students will be supported in their job search after graduation through CDI College's Employment Services department. The department teaches graduates resume writing techniques as well as job search and interviewing skills.
