  Our Full DZ program has been designed to provide job readiness in the local truck market, such as pick-up and delivery, construction, waste management, Post Office, municipal fleets, landscaping, Fire Departments, etc. In as little as three weeks you can be ready to operate an automatic straight truck and we can add on a module to teach you the techniques for shifting a semi-synchronized 10 or 13-speed vehicle which gives you the skill necessary to drive a dump truck or cement mixer.
• “F” Class
  If you have an Ontario Class F license you are permitted to drive vehicles with a maximum of 24 passenger capacity such as airport shuttle buses, para-transit vehicles and ambulances. This course teaches you all the fundamental skills to challenge the F class license and includes the use of the vehicle for the road test at the Drive Test Centre. The course is taught by experienced, qualified instructors. Courses are available on a continuous basis throughout the year on an as-required basis and are individual.   The pre-requisites are shown below. You may register online for this course.  If registering for these courses on-line, you must bring a copy of your medical and your written test to the school of your training day, or scan and email them to us.
 We will not book any in-vehicle lessons or a road test until we have proof you passed your written and paid the testing fees.

  • You must be 18 or over to apply for the Class F course
  • Minimum requirement-Ontario Class ‘G’ Driver’s License (Class G1 & G2 are NOT eligible)
    
  • You will also need to pick up an MTO medical form when you purchase your handbook. Medical Forms are available at our office or at Service Ontario licensing offices.
  • Anyone who is upgrading their license to a commercial license must bring in the completed medical to your local Drive Test Centre when you go to write your written test. (The Drive Test Centre will keep your medical form. We recommend you make copies of it before handing it in.)  OR DOWNLOAD MEDICAL FORM HERE
  • Purchase a copy of the Ministry of Transportation’s ‘Bus Driver Handbook’ and read it over in preparation for the Drive Test’s Written Test. This manual can be purchased at Service Ontario License & Vehicle Offices, the Drive Test Centre or your local bookstore. You may be able to get it from your local library.
  • You will be required to pay the licensing fee when you do the written test.
• AIR BRAKE ENDORSEMENT
  Pre-requisite:  Full Class G Ontario licence, over 18 years of age The “Z” endorsement is required to operate any vehicle equipped with air brakes in the province of Ontario. This includes large motor homes and other RV’s. Our MTO-approved air brake course is both fun and informative where you can earn your Z-endorsement over a 2-day period. This 2-day course is open to the public and runs once per month at each campus. As an approved MTO facility, we are licenced through the Truck Training Schools Association of Ontario to deliver both the theory and practical training and testing at our facility. Upon successful completion of the written and practical exams you simply go to a DriveTest Centre (after 48 hours but within 6 months) to have the Z-endorsement added to your licence. You MUST get your Z-endorsement applied to your driver’s licence within six months of taking this course. If you are doing a road test in a vehicle equipped with air brakes you must have the Z-endorsement on your licence at the time of testing. Payment in full is required by cash/cheque/credit to hold a seat.  A clear copy of your driver’s licence is also required to register.  These courses are very popular so we recommend registering early.
• A Restricted
  This course does not require to be registered under the PCC Act, 2005 In 2008 Ontario recognized, that many RV’s, horse trailer haulers and others were pulling trailers over the limit of 4,600 kg and were required to get a Class A license in order to stay legal.  Some Ontario License Offices were unable to give the road test using these smaller type combinations and insisted on a Tractor Trailer combination which was impractical.  So Ontario introduced a Restricted A license.  This allows motorists to do the road test using their existing equipment.  With this license you can pull a vehicle over the weight of 4,600 kg but you may NOT:

  • Drive full size tractor-trailers
  • Drive a motor vehicle pulling double trailers
  • Drive a motor vehicle pulling a trailer with air-brakes. (You must have an air brake endorsement first).
  • Drivers with the “R” restrictive condition will not be allowed to give driver instruction to another person on a vehicle requiring full Class A privileges.

  All Class A requirements are still applicable such as medicals to obtain a Restricted Class A license. What can you drive with this class of license? You may tow a vehicle over 4,600 kg such as larger RV’s, horse trailers etc. You may also drive a tow vehicle over 11,000 kg. You cannot double tow!
