The Medical Office Assistant program prepares students in key aspects of health administration. Students will begin by cultivating a strong foundation of administrative, word processing and office support skills before focusing on developing the skills required to fulfill the administrative requirements expected in a medical or other health care administrative setting.
Medical Office Assistants perform some or all of the following duties:
The Accounting and Payroll Administrator program introduces students to a variety of the methods used for accounting and payroll administration ranging from computer-based accounting and payroll software to manual bookkeeping methods. Students develop the skills needed to maintain and balance various accounts for large- and small-scale projects and also receive training in preparing tax returns; creating statistical, financial and accounting reports; and completing and submitting government forms.
Over the course of the program, students will take several core courses to help prepare them for work as an accountant or payroll administrator.
Bookkeepers perform some or all of the following duties:
The Child and Youth Worker program is designed to prepare students for work with troubled children and youth. Students will expand their knowledge and acquire the necessary tools for client support and working with those facing a variety of behavioural and/or physical problems.
This program includes classroom-based studies and on-the-job training through placements at a variety of social agencies and centres.
Child & Youth Care Workers perform some or all of the following duties:
The Community Services Worker program has been designed to provide graduates with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to administer and implement a variety of social and community-based service programs. Students will cultivate the knowledge and skills necessary for client assessment and support, and evaluating effectiveness of client treatment.
This program includes classroom-based studies and on-the-job training through placements at a variety of social service agencies.
Community Services Workers perform some or all of the following duties:
The Developmental Service Worker program trains students to provide support to children and adults with developmental, learning and/or physical disabilities and disorders. People with disabilities increasingly participate in valued community roles, creating the need for qualified workers to provide support in everyday activities at home or in school.
This program includes classroom-based studies and on-the-job training through placements at a variety of social service agencies.
Developmental Service Workers perform some or all of the following duties:
Do you want to make a difference and serve your community? The Law and Security program provides students with the foundation, knowledge and basic skills needed for successful employment in the field of policing.
Students are required to complete 100 hours of community service to supplement their educational experience.
