Vicars School of Massage Therapy offers a two-year diploma program in massage therapy that is fully accredited by the Canadian Massage Therapy Council for Accreditation. Because it is the only fully accredited RMT program that is offered as blended learning, many students travel from BC and other provinces to Vicars. They complete much of the coursework at home and travel to the Vicars campuses in Edmonton and Calgary once a month for hands-on instruction and practice in the classroom and in faculty-supervised student clinics. This makes Vicars School an ideal choice for local students with families and other responsibilities, as well as those who can’t relocate.
CMTCA accreditation means that the Vicars program meets exactly the same standards as the best schools in regulated provinces like BC. The CMTCA standards are focused on ensuring that graduates from accredited schools have the skills and knowledge they need to be effective—from the first day they enter the profession. The CCHPBC—the regulatory college for massage therapists in BC—has approved Vicars graduates to apply directly to write its registration exams. Student funding is available, including grants from the school. A $2000 Vicars Armed Forces Grant is available to qualified CAF members, veterans, and their families. Vicars is a Designated Learning Institute (DLI) recognized for provincial and federal funding.
