Beauty, Esthetics, Barber Programs

  • The Esthetics Diploma program at MTG Healthcare Academy focuses on obtaining comprehensive information on current facial and body treatments using specialized products, devices, and techniques, supported by an understanding of basic anatomy, chemistry, and physiology. Students will also be taught effective communication and professional ethics, sterilization and sanitation, salon/spa business strategies, ownership and operations, client service essentials, and guidance in industry specific career development.

Healthcare, Wellness, Pharma Programs

  • The Government of Alberta Health Care Aide Provincial Curriculum will prepare students to work in varied care settings. The students will acquire knowledge and expertise to assist in meeting the individual needs while preserving the client’s independence.

    Health Care Aides [HCAs] are unregulated workforce that provide basic health services and support with activities of daily living [ADL] for clients who have medical conditions or major functional limitations. HCAs work under the direct or indirect supervision of a regulated health professional, such as a nurse [RN, LPN], in various settings including home care, assisted living facilities and long-term care.

  • This is a three-in-one diploma program offered for its graduate students to be equipped and trained in three different job functions and consequently will have more employment opportunities.

    The Medical Office Assistants [NOC 14101] greet people arriving at offices, hospitals, and other establishments, direct visitors to appropriate person or service, answer, and forward telephone calls, take messages, schedule appointments, and perform other clerical duties. The Unit Clerks or General Office Support Workers [NOC 14100] prepare correspondence, reports, statements, and other material, operate office equipment, answer telephones, verify, record and process forms and documents such as contracts and requisitions and perform general clerical duties according to established procedures. The Medical Transcriptionists [NOC 12110] transcribe recorded dictation in accordance with established formats or written documentation from medical reports, correspondence, health records, and patient information.

  • Physiotherapist Assistants/Rehabilitation Assistants are classified under National Occupational Classification 3237-Other Technical Occupations in Therapy and Assessment. Other technical workers in therapy and assessment perform various technical therapy and assessment functions. Some may assist professionals such as occupational therapists, physiotherapists, ophthalmologists, speech-language pathologists, and audiologists. They are employed in hospitals, clinics, extended care facilities, rehabilitation centres, community health centres, educational institutions, hearing aid retail stores, in the private practices of the professionals they assist, or they may be self-employed.

  • Massage Therapy is a rapidly growing field and recognized as an essential part of health care and overall wellness. Massage Therapists are needed all throughout Alberta. Our massage Therapy program prepares students for employment opportunities in private clinics, chiropractor offices, athletic therapy clinics and more.

  • Massage Therapy is a growing field and an essential part of healthcare and Health and Wellness. Our Massage Therapy program enables students to be able to seek employment opportunities in Chiropractor Offices, Athletic Clinics, Private Clinics, and other Family Clinics.

Human & Social Services, CSW Programs

  • The Addiction & Community Support Worker Diploma program at MTG Healthcare Academy focuses on the competencies necessary to train students with the skills and expertise needed for a challenging but rewarding profession in this field. Students of this program can learn the skills to work in the community of people that are at risk and helpless as well as homeless persons, children with special needs, Indigenous peoples, pregnant teenagers, people with substance abuse problems and addictions, and many more.

  • The Developmental Service Worker program (DSW Program) provides special training for students looking for a gratifying career working with adults, youth, and children who have developmental, cognitive, and physical disabilities. The DSW Student will also learn to support individuals with mental illnesses.
