  • Trillium College’s Accounting & Payroll Administration (APA) diploma program gives you knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices specific to the Canadian marketplace. You will receive hands-on training in manual and computerized accounting systems and industry bookkeeping software.

    Trillium College’s APA program prepares graduates to qualify as a nationally recognised Payroll Compliance Practitioner* (PCP) with the  (CPA). Students who finish the academic requirements, but have not yet obtained the work experience requirement are referred to as “PCP Candidates”. In order to become properly certified, a Work Experience Requirement Application (WERA) must be filled out. PCP Candidates are skilled yet still need practical hands-on experience. Employers value PCP Candidates for many entry-level positions. A PCP candidate information card can be obtained from the CPA website and used to assist with your job search. Please keep in mind that the CPA’S passing mark is a 65%.

    * This certification is obtained as per guidelines prescribed by the CPA.

  • Program Details

    Our Dental Assisting program is an in-depth dental assistant program offering a diverse knowledge base and current practical experience. Students will work as part of a professional team, alongside the dentist during their field placement. Students will learn a variety of skills throughout this dental program, including dental office procedures, basic computer applications, bookkeeping, appointment scheduling and intra-oral procedures. The curriculum of our dental assisting program is Healing Arts Radiation Protection (HARP) recognized, and the curriculum is approved by the National Dental Assisting Examination Board (NDAEB). Graduates of this program are eligible to write the NDAEB certification exam. (Exam dates are determined by the NDAEB).

    HARP and NDAEB Training

    Our curriculum provides training that meets the requirements of the Healing Arts Radiation Protection (HARP) certificate and is also approved and recognized by the National Dental Assisting Examination Board (NDAEB). A dental assistant placement while attending our dental program helps you hone your dental assisting skills for entry into the workforce, and as a graduate of this dental program, you will be eligible to write the National Dental Assisting Examination Board (NDAEB) examination.

  • Trillium College’s Massage Therapy program introduces you to a variety of Swedish massage techniques manipulation techniques to treat stress, pain, and other physical conditions or disorders. You will develop the specialized knowledge and skills to systematically assess clients’ needs, formulate comprehensive clinical impressions, develop specific treatment plans and evaluate clients’ progress and treatment outcomes. Our curriculum emphasizes client focused care and is designed to facilitate your growth as a health care professional in order to become a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT).

    A diploma in Massage Therapy can open the door to a new career where you can work for yourself or an employer – the choice is yours! The program at Trillium College will provide you with in-depth knowledge of human anatomy and allow you the options to offer both relaxing massage therapy to clients or address musculature and conditions that can be remedied through massage. The Massage Therapy program is designed to develop the specialized knowledge, skills, and judgment necessary for conducting a systematic client assessment, formulating a complete clinical impression, and developing a specific treatment plan. Students learn to perform safe, competent, and comprehensive massage therapy while constantly evaluating the outcome and consulting with the client.

    Work towards becoming an RMT at Trillium College

    Limited enrollment and direct interaction with instructors ensures you will receive individual attention in this dynamic course. As a graduate of this program, you will be eligible to challenge the provincial certification examination with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). Successful completion of the certification exam will allow you to become an RMT. We are also active members of the Ontario Council of Private Massage Therapy Schools (OCPMTC) and the Canadian Council of Massage Therapy Schools (CCMTS).

    Main Duties

    • Prepare and key in correspondence and legal documents, such as deeds, wills, affidavits and briefs, from handwritten copy, shorthand and machine dictation using computers
    • Review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures and grammatical usage
    • Schedule appointments, meetings and conferences for employer
    • Set up and maintain filing systems, utilizing knowledge of legal records and procedures and frequently controlling confidential materials and documents
    • Open and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail and other material and co-ordinate the flow of information internally and with other departments or organizations
    • Determine and establish office procedures and routines
    • May supervise and train other staff in procedures and in the use of current software
    • May attend court, meetings or conferences to take notes, minutes and dictation
    • May perform other general office work as required including preparing financial statements.
