ABOUT VPC

Established in 1998, Vancouver Premier College of Hotel Management (VPCHM) has been dedicated to providing professional hospitality education to students from around the world.

Designation: Our College is designated by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) under the Ministry of Advanced Education in British Columbia. Designated institutions have to go through a rigorous evaluation process of their programs, facilities, policies and staff. The designation provides quality assurance to our students.

British Columbia EQA Designation: VPCHM is a BC EQA designated institution. EQA stands for Education Quality Assurance. In Canada, BC EQA is the first and only provincial brand that is recognized worldwide as a symbol of quality education and consumer protection for post-secondary education.

The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute: Many of our course texts are from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI). This means the curriculum has been researched and designed by leading academics and industry professionals. Students at VPC can earn AHLEI course certificates and AHLEI diplomas, recognized in 130 countries. Having an industry-endorsed curriculum ensures that our graduates have the proper training and knowledge to meet the needs of this dynamic industry.

Program Advisory Committee: VPC has a Program Advisory Committee (PAC) consisting of industry professionals who are leaders in various fields of the hospitality industry. The board meets regularly with representatives from the college to give feedback and input on our diploma and certificate curriculum. The PAC members suggest projects and assignments that present real issues and concerns in the industry. Together, the PAC members, VPCHM staff, and VPCHM students shape our vision.

Degree Granting Articulations: VPCHM has articulation agreements with various private and public universities and colleges worldwide. By following the British Columbia Provincial Hospitality Management Diploma’s core curriculum, VPCHM is one of a very few private colleges that are able to obtain articulations with local public universities and colleges. Students who want to pursue higher education after completing their studies at VPC can choose from various higher-level diplomas or degrees in Hospitality and/or Tourism Management.
