- Production Design and Technical Arts
Our Production Design and Technical Arts program offers comprehensive training in Production Management, Technical Direction, Stage Management, Stage Electrics/Lighting Design, Sound Systems/Sound Design, and Video Systems/Projection Design. Here, students receive hands-on instruction from experienced professionals within a dynamic learning environment equipped with state-of-the-art technology and professional gear.

- Playwriting
The Playwriting Program is dedicated to nurturing students in the fundamental principles of dramatic writing, providing them with a diverse toolkit to conceive, mold, and scrutinize their creations, all with the ultimate aim of realizing their unique artistic visions in the form of plays.
Our curriculum encompasses an array of writing projects, exercises, workshops, and classes designed to demystify the dramatic structure, encourage innovative avenues for creative inspiration, refine the intricate process of revision, and empower students to chart their distinctive paths toward artistic development.

- Directing
The director training program at NTS offers an intensive and comprehensive experience, fostering personal development by exposing students to a wide range of professional forms and theatrical styles. It involves a meticulous exploration of contemporary theatre practices, providing students with a well-rounded education. Over the course of their studies at NTS, students will build strong connections with both Canadian and Quebecois theatre professionals. Although the primary language of instruction is English, a foundational knowledge of French is promoted and facilitated by the school, allowing students to engage more effectively with the local culture and artistic community. This program encourages directors to refine their craft and broaden their horizons, ensuring they are well-prepared for a successful career in the theatre industry.
- Set and Costume Design
Our training program empowers students to dream, create, and provides them with the skills to turn their ideas into reality. We foster a synergy among the contemplative, creative, and technical dimensions of scenography, ensuring that each facet enriches the others.
- Acting
The Acting program offers an intensive and immersive training experience that introduces aspiring artists to a diverse range of theatrical styles and approaches. Core training in voice, movement, text, and music enables actors to develop a customized process that fosters resilient and enduring artistic expression. In a close-knit environment, students receive guidance and challenges from influential figures in contemporary theater. The program nurtures strong, independent artists by heightening each actor's awareness of their distinctive artistic journey.
