  • With our global community rapidly expanding, and with the increased interest and dependence on world trade, the industry of importing and exporting goods couldn’t be more important or vital to the world’s economy. Individuals trained in Import/Export will be familiar with the details of the regulations and laws that govern world trade, as well as be privy to the current dialogues and rhetoric of the international market. This program teaches students valuable skills recommended by the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT), which will provide all the tools necessary to eventually become a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) Areas of study include research in international business, legal aspects of international trade, law and business ethics, spreadsheets and databases and financial mathematics.
  • Individuals in an Accounting and Payroll department are typically responsible for preparing and processing bills, invoices, accounts payable and receivables, budgets and other financial records. This program provides students with hands-on training in bookkeeping, database management, and accounting software used by Canadian employers. Areas of study include accounting principles and practice, computerized accounting, managerial accounting, payroll administration, spreadsheets and data management. The Payroll Compliance Legislation course will be taken online through the Canadian Payroll Association.     Supply chain management is the process of moving the right thing to the right place at the right time – and at the right cost. To produce a product a plan needs to be put in place, from procurement, through manufacturing, to delivery.  The coordination of these processes is known as the “supply chain”, and is vital to an organization’s competitive advantage. An individual involved in supply chain management is responsible for managing the flow of products through the supply chain from start to finish.

    This online program, in partnership with , examines each stage of the supply chain and prepares students with the knowledge and practical skills required for entry-level positions in supply chain management. Areas of study include logistics, marketing, operations, procurement, transportation, negotiation skills and business planning.

    Herzing College is the only private career college in Manitoba offering a Supply Chain Management diploma program endorsed by SCC. As such, graduates receive a dual diploma. In addition to the diploma from Herzing College, graduates of the program will be awarded a Supply Chain Management Training (SMT) diploma from the SCC.

In the past, drafters primarily produced working and schematic drawings using a variety of drafting machines, rules, T-squares, curves, triangles, and other drawing tools. Today, individuals in this role produce these drawings using a computer-assisted drawing system known as CAD. This program develops the skills necessary to determine the information to include on drawings. Areas of study include taking and interpreting measurements, manufacturing, interpreting technical information related to materials and the manufacturing process, illustrating the arrangement of components and power train systems, interpreting and creating drawings and sketches, specialized functions of a computer-aided drafting program.

The Sustainable Architecture program prepares students to meet the requirements of the construction industry in general and to meet the growing need to adopt and develop strategies for development and design that are sus-tainable.   • 2D animation has been around since the 1800’s and involves creating two-dimensional characters, backgrounds and storyboards. 2D animation has evolved from using hand drawn images to using computer-based software such as Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Flash and After Effects to create and edit images, but it still plays an important role in the world of animation today. This program provides a well-rounded curriculum and prepares students with the skills and competencies needed to pursue a career in TV, movie production and more. Areas of study include introduction to animation and animation software, arcs, anticipation, drawing, posing, character rigging, character animation and more.   • Web and graphic designers use color, lettering, typography and computer design programs to create images and documents for use in print and web. They combine art and technology to communicate ideas. Computer Graphic Design students learn design fundamentals, lettering and typography, graphic design and web design. Students create color composites and renderings and are introduced to using computer applications and sophisticated software as design tools. Students use these tools to create high quality layouts and designs for print and web. This program provides students with a solid foundation for career growth. Graduates are qualified for many entry-level positions, including production or computer artists at newspapers or print media production houses, advertising agencies or television stations.
