Primary Care Paramedic Program

The Primary Care Paramedic Program aims to produce skilled, knowledgeable, and professional paramedics dedicated to excellence and compassionate care. Aligned with the standards of the College of Paramedics of Nova Scotia, Paramedic Association of New Brunswick, and the National Occupational Competency Profile by the Paramedic Association of Canada, it prepares graduates to significantly contribute to the paramedicine profession and their communities.

This program focuses on theoretical knowledge, professional skill mastery, and fostering a professional demeanor. It emphasizes lifelong learning and adaptability in the ever-evolving medical field, encouraging students to be proactive in their continuous education. Faculty not only teach but also guide students as advisors and learning facilitators.

Given the expanding role of paramedics, accumulating knowledge and skills is insufficient; students are encouraged to be curious and consistently enhance their expertise. The 50-week PCP program includes 7 months of classroom and simulation training followed by 4 months of clinical and practicum experiences.
