Whether you’re looking to enhance your skills to climb the ladder or seeking for a breakthrough in an alternate career path, higher education is the key that opens doors to financial stability and future prosperity. However, the cost of higher studies often deters Canadians from pursuing their dreams. If you’re a career-focused individual who’s always wanted to go back to school, there’s no better time than NOW. We’re here to help you pay your tuition and living expenses so that you can seek a better future.

While students can avail financial aid options for post-secondary education such as federal student loans that need to be repaid, they could also benefit greatly from Canadian student grants based on their eligibility.

What is Canada Student Grants Program?

Non-repayable grants offered by the Government of Canada are referred to as Federal Student Grants or Canada Student Grants. Unlike loans, grants don’t need to be paid back, and most grants are awarded based on one’s financial need rather than merit. Students from low-income and middle-income families who’re enrolled in a part-time or a full-time under-grad program could avail these grants.

Federal Student Grants are delivered in partnership with participating provinces and territories and you can avail them if you are:

  • a full-time or a part-time student
  • student from a low-income or a middle-income family
  • a student with dependents; and/or
  • a student with permanent disabilities

How much can you get?

Federal Student Grants have an annual limit and a lifetime limit, and the amount that you could receive depends on factors such as the province or territory of residence, family income, number of dependents, tuition fees, living expenses, and whether you have a disability. You could also be eligible for more than one type of grant.

With so many financial aid options available to students, pursuing higher studies is no longer a far-fetched dream. If you were ever waiting for the right time to get that degree, diploma or certificate that could give wings to your career, this is it! So, have you found your school yet?
