The Medavie HealthEd Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) Distance Program combines online instructor-led classes, practical simulation labs, and clinical practicum experiences, allowing students to complete their theoretical studies from home. This program aligns with the competency standards set by the College of Paramedics of Nova Scotia, Paramedic Association of New Brunswick, Saskatchewan College of Paramedics, and the Paramedic Association of Canada for Advanced Care Paramedics.
Students are advised to dedicate three hours of self-study for every hour of class time, supported by enhanced online resources. Practical labs are held at designated campuses. The program includes 478 hours of didactic instruction, 340 hours of simulation labs, 192 hours in clinical settings like emergency and operating rooms, and 504 hours in ambulance practicums, totaling 1514 hours of training, excluding self-study.
