Basic Advanced and Diabetic Nursing Footcare

Course Description:

Our combined, comprehensive course; Basic, Advanced Diabetic foot care nursing program is taught by enlisted, proficient and highly experienced medical attendants with extensive knowledge and training in Basic, Advanced and Diabetic foot care. The course pursues current best practice rules in nursing foot care, best practice guidelines in infection control for foot care and evidence-based practice in nursing foot care treatment, current, and nursing foot care standards and rules, and personal health information protection act.

Pre-requisites:

RN/RPN and IEN (International Educated Nurses)

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the workshop, the participant will be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge in the scope of basic nursing footcare practice.
  • Integrate the knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the foot and lower leg in the early identification of foot problems.
  • Demonstrate the ability to assist the registered nursing staff in obtaining a holistic foot health assessment of the client.
  • Provide basic footcare interventions within the scope of Nurses’ roles and the policies and procedures of the agency or facility.
  • Refer clients needing further assessment and interventions to Registered Nursing Staff. Physician, Foot
  • Specialist/Chiropodist, and other disciplines.
  • Instruct clients regarding foot health maintenance and prevention of foot problems.
