The program incorporates fundamentals of acupuncture training with a comprehensive study in traditional Chinese herbology. Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine have always been practiced side by side as the core healing modality in history, both complement each other from different aspects. In the Double Major program students learn the whole scoop of TCM, including acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, more in-depth TCM diagnosis, and numerous different natural healing modalities such as Qi Gong, Tai Ji, food and nutrition therapy, cupping, Gua Sha, auricular therapy, massage, and many more.
Throughout the program students have all the knowledge in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine using individualized herbal prescriptions and herbal-food therapy. This allows graduates a distinct advantage in their future practice.
The Double Major in Acupuncture and TCM streamlines the process by offering more education to students for the same tuition as the Acupuncture Diploma program. Upon completion, the graduates will be awarded the Acupuncture Diploma as well as the Doctor of TCM Diploma. Graduates are eligible to write the Pan Canadian TCM Acupuncturist examination facilitated by the College and Association of Acupuncturists of Alberta (CAAA). Also the Pan Canadian TCM Practitioner examination facilitated by BC and OT acupuncture/TCM regulatory bodies.
