INSTITUTIONAL AND HOME CARE ASSISTANCE (ENGLISH) – 5858
Program Objectives
The Institutional and Home Care Assistance – 5858 program prepares students for the trade or occupation of patient service associate and home support worker in the health and social services sector.
This profession aims to provide care and assistance in public, private and community health care networks to persons of all ages who are sick or who have physical, psychological, or psychosocial disabilities. The rationale of this occupation is to provide aid to patients so that they may recover or maintain their autonomy and overall health condition.

Prerequisites
To be admitted to this curriculum, student must meet one of the following conditions:
Secondary V diploma or its recognized equivalent OR
Be at least 16 years old on the 30th of September of the school year and pass the third secondary units in first and second language, as well as in mathematics according to the programs established by the Minister OR
Be at least 18 years old when entering the program and have the following prerequisites: past a general development test and the FRA3103-1 (FRA3051-1) language test or recognition of equivalent learning.
Pass the College admission test.
This vocational program leads to a DEP (diplôme d’études professionnelles) recognized by the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement Supérieur (MEES) (Permit 528500).
