This program is designed to equip Personal Support Worker (PSW) Nurses with theoretical knowledge and best practice standards for medication administration in their professional environment. Participants are expected to practice within the boundaries of their professional role, as defined by the regulations of their specific province/territory and their place of employment.
The aim of this program is not to serve as a substitute for the formal Medication Administration Orientation provided by employers.
Offered as a 50-hour course, it is conducted asynchronously through the Moodle Classroom platform.
Participants are given a three-month period to complete the coursework, for which they must have internet access and a suitable device for online learning.
To enroll in this program, participants are required to submit proof of their Personal Support Worker Certification (or its provincial equivalent, such as Continuing Care Attendant Certification).
This program is taught in English.
