PHARMACY ASSISTANT

The objective of this program is to equip students with the competencies, theoretical and practical skills necessary to gain employment in the pharmacy environment. Student will develop interpersonal skills as well as a strong sense of responsibility for this client-centered field.

Specific topics covered in this program will be:
 Introduction to Pharmacy Practice
 Human Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology
 Medical Terminology
 Interpersonal Skills, Communications, Problem solving & Client services
 Pharmacology & Pharmaceutical Fundamentals
 Pharmaceutical Law & Ethics
 Pharmaceutical Calculations
 Compounding
 Keyboarding
 Pharmacy Management Software
 Retail Pharmacy Practice

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

1. Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or Equivalent, plus 1 senior Math, English and Science subject.
2. Mature students status – 18 years of age or older and pass a pre-entry evaluation

Note – All foreign credentials must be translated into English and compared for Grade 12 equivalency by a recognized organization (i.e. WES)
